Dubai, December 19, 2023 – The Filipino Social Club’s (FilSoc) highly anticipated Christmas extravaganza, “Paskong Palarong Pinoy,” concluded with an overwhelming turnout of more than 2225 attendees, transforming the Pakistan Association grounds into a festive haven on the 17th of December 2023.
“Witnessing the community come together was heartwarming, and it was a testament to the shared joy and camaraderie that define the holiday season,” said Ms. Ellanie Villena, FilSoc Vice President, and the event’s main organizer.
Key Event Highlights:
Opening Program: The opening program of the event was graced by the esteemed presence of Consul Renato Dueñas, the Philippine Consul General of Dubai and Northern Emirates, Filipino community leaders, and guests from various industries.
Sporting Events: The event’s highlight included thrilling sports events, beginning with a kids’ football match in the morning and later transitioning into adult ball games, featuring basketball, football, and volleyball. The atmosphere was charged with excitement, showcasing the community’s sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Bountiful Gift-giving: Throughout the day, attendees were treated to an abundance of festive activities and generous offerings. Gifts for children and senior citizens brought smiles and joy, creating heartwarming moments that captured the essence of the season.
Fun Activities for all Ages: The kids were also entertained with parlor games and a magic show, while some of the adults put on their best creative Christmas-inspired costumes for the “Damit Pasko” contest.
Dance & Music Fest: Adding a fitness twist to the celebration, the Zumba challenge had attendees on their feet, dancing and reveling in the energetic beats. The crowd sang along and grooved to the tunes of Christmas and OPM classics performed by WCOPA, Emanon Band, and Filipino Kasambahay Club, creating an unforgettable musical experience.
Grand Prizes at Stake: Christmas Bingo and the grand raffle draw, featuring coveted prizes such as home appliances and a roundtrip ticket to the Philippines courtesy of Philippine Air Lines, added an extra layer of anticipation and thrill. Winners left with big smiles and hearts full of gratitude.
Bazaar Variety: The bazaar and sponsor corners were also abuzz with a diverse array of offerings and free services, including haircutting and medical checkups, providing a holistic experience for attendees beyond the festivities.
